Saint Saviour’s Healthy Baby Program
The Healthy Baby Program, based at Saint Saviour's Center, provides diapers to clients of Growing Together Preschool, Step Up Ministries, Wake Relief, and the Church of the Good Shepherd Soup Kitchen. To date, we have distributed thousands of diapers, and the families served have been extremely grateful to receive them. We are also in the process of developing a pilot education and nurture program, with advisement from pediatrician Dr. Muff Carr, for families to come to Saint Saviour's to receive diapers.
As evident by the numerous packages of diapers left in the parish hall each week, the response by Christ Church parishioners has been terrific. This program shows what the parish can accomplish with everyone lending a hand. Our goal is to expand the distribution to reach more low-income families, and we encourage you to continue to donate diapers of all sizes.
The Healthy Baby Program is helping to bring new life to Saint Saviour's and offers an excellent opportunity for collaboration among churches and civic groups to meet an important need in our area. Several churches have already agreed to sponsor diaper collection drives and provide volunteers for the program. If you have questions or would like to volunteer, please contact Ginny McKay , Jan Hoomani , Cece Scott , or Allene Cooley .
