About Christ Church

 

Christ Church is a parish of the Episcopal Diocese of North Carolina, with a membership of approximately 2,500 persons.

Founded in 1821 as the first Episcopal Church in Raleigh, Christ Church welcomes all people at God's altar.

Our parish centers in our worship of God according to the Book of Common Prayer and provides opportunities to celebrate in joy, grow in faith, and serve in compassion.

Christ Church, an historic parish in the heart of the city of Raleigh, is a community of faith with a place for all, transforming lives with the Good News of Jesus Christ, proclaiming the radical love of God, rejoicing in the power of the resurrection, by:

- Celebrating Anglican worship that lifts hearts and minds into the profound presence of God and embraces a sacramental understanding of the whole of life

- Teaching and discerning a mature faith for a complex world

- Guiding the young into faithful discipleship and courageous moral vision

- Providing a place of belonging, healing, and renewal that anchors the journey of life

- Accepting the Gospel challenge to generous service and compassionate engagement with the needs of the world
