New Members
Christ Church, a parish of the Episcopal Diocese of North Carolina, welcomes all people. Our worship of God follows the Book of Common Prayer with the Holy Eucharist as the central to our worship.
Interested in membership?
Please make yourself known to one of the clergy, or fill out a welcome card found on the back of the pews in the church.
We also invite you to attend a "Welcome Coffee" to learn more about our parish family. These informal events are held in the parlor once a month following a Sunday worship service.
Ready to join Christ Church?
For those who have never been an Episcopalian or have never been baptized, we offer membership classes in the fall and spring. New Episcopalians are then confirmed by the bishop at a special service.
If you are an Episcopalian, please request that your Letter of Transfer be sent to Christ Church from your former parish. Lin Boyle in the church office will be pleased to assist you.
You will also need to attend the "Life at Christ Church" classes, which are held three times a year to acquaint new members with Christ Church and assist them in becoming fully engaged in the life of our parish.
Membership requirements for weddings and baptisms
Those who are desirous of being married in Christ Church must have been a member of Christ Church for at least one year, or must be the child of one who has been a member for at least one year.
Those who are desirous of baptizing their children should be members of Christ Church. Baptisms are celebrated only during regular church services and only on approximately eight Sundays per year.
