Current 7th-12th Graders
With everyone having such different summer schedules this year we will offer two opportunities to serve. We will need to have at least ten students on each trip in order for us to go. Please sign up as soon as possible so we can make sure we have enough students to have two trips. Students are welcome to attend both, the work will be similar but there is always a need. We will be volunteering with The Episcopal Farmworker Ministry (EFM) in Newton Grove, NC. EFM provides a food distribution center, English as a second language classes, migrant outreach, leadership development for the farm worker community, and is the home for the mission La Iglesia de la Sagrada Familia. We will work two days distributing clothes, food, and hygiene bags to the different camps. We will spend the night at the EFM offices and on the third day, weather permitting, we will pack up and head to Atlantic beach for some fun in the sun returning to Raleigh late that evening. To register please fill out the community covenant and medical release forms and return them along with $75 to help cover cost. If you have any questions please contact Liz Stroff at lstroff@christchurchraleigh.org or 919-834-6259 ext. 31. This is a great opportunity to get service hours for school and a great way to lend a helping hand.

Food for thought
Farmworkers are responsible for harvesting 85% of the produce delivered to our tables. It is a terrible irony that in our state today those who are responsible for putting food on our tables often cannot afford to feed their own families.
